Health Benefits of Vitamin B Complex

Follwing the last post here at Vitamin B Complex which was entitled: Vitamin B Complex is...?, which outlined exactly what vitamin B complex is made up of, lets look at the health benefits of vitamin B complex which can be outlined fairly simply. Vitamin B complex often work well together to provide a number of health benefits to the body. B vitamins have been shown to:
  • Maintan a healthy skin as well as muscle tone
  • Support and increase the metabolic rate in teh body
  • Promote strong cell growth and divison. That includes red blood cells which help prevent anemia.
  • Enhance the immune and nervous system functions
  • Reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer, when consumed in food, but not when taken in vitamin tablet form. This is one of the most lethal types of cancer.
Working together, the vitamin B complex also help to combat the symptoms and causes of depression, stress and also cardiovascular disease.

All of the B vitamins are water soluble and are easily dispersed throughout the body. Most of these B vitamins must be replenished on a daily basis, as any excess is excreted in the urine, except vitamin B12, where a six year store of cobalamin (vitamin B12) can be found in the liver despite the water soluble nature of this vitamin.

So you need to replenish your vitamin B complex each day. The best form of these vitamins is in food which is natural rather than tablet form. In a later post I'll look at foods that contain the B vitamins.
